The Grounds

The Homestead estate is situated on two acres in the heart of Plano, Illinois.

Although most visitors focus on our bed & breakfast — or on our place in the history of Illinois — there’s even more to love when you step outside.

Nature lovers and wedding planners will enjoy our picturesque landscaping, with lush green backdrops and a recently planted hedge maze.

Art lovers will admire our beautiful brick labyrinth and the distinctive contemporary sculpture garden.

The labyrinth is a perfect focus for outdoor events, especially weddings. (Imagine your wedding guests encircling the bridal party — and then picture the bride slowly walking the winding path as her husband-to-be waits in the center!)

Our sculpture garden currently features the works of emerging Illinois artisans Tomek Gadawski and Steven Lockwood. Other sculptures may be on view when you visit. All art at The Homestead is available for purchase and therefore may change from visit to visit.
